Syrffio Magazine

Syrffio is all about highlighting a small but incredible community of surfers along the Gower coastline in South Wales. This editorial design focuses on some of the key highlights that make up the Welsh surfing scene.

This project was based on a self-written brief during my foundation year and combined my interest in editorial design with my passion for water sports and surfing in Wales. I spent several days in South West Gower capturing photographs and recordings of local surf spots and surfers, and I was also given access to observe Arno Surfboards as they went through the detailed process of making a surfboard.

I really enjoyed working on this project, as I knew it could offer a strong design-led insight into the Welsh surfing community if executed to the best of my ability. Alongside the editorial layout, I also developed supporting branding elements for the magazine, including posters, T-shirt designs, and tote bag prints.
